2. Your choices
A compact privacy banner offers Accept All, Reject All and Manage Preferences with equal prominence. Optional External Media is disabled by default. Accept All enables that category; Reject All keeps it off. There is no analytics or marketing category enabled in the application. Essential site operation is not switched off by these choices.
Manage Privacy Preferences in the footer lets you change or withdraw your choice. Saving External Media as off removes currently embedded players and prevents new player requests until you enable the category again. Withdrawal does not affect processing before withdrawal, remove a provider's existing cookies or undo information already sent to it. Browser settings and provider controls can be used for those cookies.
3. Preference storage
bwsc-privacy (local storage) records only the consent version, timestamp and whether External Media is enabled. It is not sent to an advertising service. The application sets no automatic expiry; the preference remains until changed, browser storage is cleared or the consent version changes. An invalid or old-version preference is treated as no consent. If browser settings prevent storage, the choice applies to the current visit and may need to be repeated.
4. Essential and user-requested functionality
The website uses browser storage for operation, security, navigation and preferences:
- bwsc-units (local storage): your selected Metric or Imperial units. No automatic expiry is set.
- bwsc:stories-return and bwsc:photography-return (session storage): return to your browsing position.
- tsr-scroll-restoration-v1_3 (session storage): navigation scroll restoration.
- bwsc-chunk-reload (session storage): recovery from failed website-file loading.
Session storage normally lasts for the browser tab session. Local storage lasts until removed by you or the application.
Private administration also uses authentication session storage and the bwsc_owner_preview cookie. The preview cookie is issued only after verified Owner sign-in for private media access, lasts one hour and may be refreshed during an active session. Authentication storage keeps the Owner signed in subject to the service's session rules. These controls are not public visitor advertising trackers.
5. External Media
YouTube players, Windy camera players and other externally hosted Story embeds are covered by the External Media category. The application does not insert their iframes until consent is enabled. Camera settings that are inactive or hidden remain inactive; granting consent does not activate them.
When permitted, an embedded provider may receive your IP address, browser and device details, the requested resource and referrer information, and may use its own cookies or storage. Provider technologies and lifetimes can change. BWSC does not control cookies on another provider's domain. Review the provider's own privacy and cookie information, including Google's at https://policies.google.com/privacy and Windy's at https://www.windy.com/privacy.
Ordinary links to external websites do not load an embedded player on BWSC. Following such a link takes you to that service, where its terms and privacy practices apply.
6. Fonts, analytics and diagnostics
Inter font files are delivered through this website's asset service rather than Google Fonts. The application does not include an active analytics, advertising, marketing tracker or Google Consent Mode integration. Website delivery and infrastructure may still involve operational and security logging; that is not a claim that all provider processing is absent.
7. Browser controls and changes
You can clear or block browser storage through browser settings. Blocking necessary storage may affect navigation, saved preferences or private sign-in. We will update this policy when the website's technologies change.
